The following pages are designed to give an overview of what X-ray Astronomy is and what research is being carried out at the moment, both here and in other departments around the world.

Our Group has a distinguished record in high-energy astrophysics, with its past and present members, having played a leading role in X-ray astronomy of Turkey. The observatories such as Ginga, Rosat, ASCA and now continued with Chandra, XMM-Newton and SUZAKU are used. Although an emphasis on X-ray astronomy remains, the research program now makes use of the full range of ground-based and space-based facilities for multi-wavelength astronomy.
